Dripping Springs · ranch gates and dark-sky-friendly design

Christmas light installation in Dripping Springs, TX.

Dripping Springs is an International Dark Sky Community, and its outdoor lighting rules are stricter than anywhere else we work. That is a design constraint, not a dealbreaker, and it is worth getting right rather than finding out after the fact.

What's different about Dripping Springs

The house tells us how to light it.

Ranch gates, long fence lines and big setbacks define the display here. We aim light down and at the structure rather than up and out, which keeps the property compliant and, honestly, looks better anyway.

Dark sky guidance favours shielded, downward, warmer light. Holiday displays are treated more leniently than permanent fixtures, but we still design shielded and downward so nothing about the display invites a complaint.

Dripping Springs questions

What homeowners here ask first.

Do the dark sky rules mean we cannot have Christmas lights?

No. Seasonal displays are treated differently from permanent outdoor lighting. We design shielded and downward-facing so the display fits the spirit of the ordinance.

Can you light a ranch gate and the fence line?

Yes. On acreage the gate and the first stretch of fence are usually the highest-impact part of the whole property.

How far out do you come in Dripping Springs?

We cover Belterra, Headwaters, Caliterra and the surrounding acreage. If you are unsure whether your address is in range, call and we will tell you straight.
